BIOGRAPHY
When the Mind Wanders..
I am a Korean-born, New York-base artist. I was born in Seoul, Korea in 1982 and came to New York in 2002 for study abroad. I got BFA and MFA from Pratt Institute. Most of my works has been inspired by my personal view toward social and cultural issues I have experienced and involved since I came to NY. In the recent drawings, I depict a moment of psychological wandering which is experienced by all human being, in regards to hidden desires, vanity, anxieties, sorrows, and fantasies we play out in our minds. I draw a number of female figures in one drawing. It was very easy to recognize that they are all same person due to their appearance. Each figure was representing different conflicting selves in our inner mind. I thought all our sorrow and despair comes from inner conflicts not from external factors.
